I was recently thinking in ways to improve the dynamism of the Pokemon and items market interface by adding an option to sell your pokemon/item to the highest bidder during a selected period of time.
I think is a very useful way to make more efficient transactions, instead of asking several times "how much does a X level 110 cost?", just to read answers such as "mmmh, about 20-40k" (considering the prices also change from different servers, now that i have started a new character in Platinum, prices are specially distorted haha), now you could have an option to place a minimum price (e.g. price of NPC Santiago) and select a 1-day or 3-day term, beside from the current options (7, 14, 21, 28), to sell to the highest bidder at (usually) the best price.
