Hi,
Some moves are outdated or close to useless in PvE, with their potential wasted. That quite commonly gatekeeps many pokemon from being good, or valid at the very least. Here are some examples that IMO could easily be updated and suggestions how to change them:
- Scary Face - the 2x2 range on this move is tragic with its only upside is that it works in spite of target having "Protection" effect of some kind. Changing range to 4x4, with max run-away distance a pokemon will try to reach being 5-tiles could make it useful in PvE as a valid CC
- Toxic Web/Shocking Web - a move appealing, original, however quite useless on high level respawns and bosses. Switching its hit pattern to that of 4x4/5x5 "Imprison" type moves would be a great change, with its initial dmg remaining at 2k, at the same time applying web-related slow and 100dmg/tick. IMO that works better than some ground effect that rarely ever works well enough
- Big Splash - ok, cool, a semi-troll fun ability on a semi-troll pokemon, but it's so annoying both when fighting Big Magikarps or when using one. Instead of knocking everything back like Mean Look used to, could we have it knock UP in similar manner to Expanding Force? Like, Big Magikarp "jumps up" similar just as in Freezing Shock animation, then lands, deals dmg and knocks hit enemies up. Wouldn't it be fun and quite useful at the same time? Not to mention saving so many from death due to Shedinja getting knocked in the wall and fished pokemon switching aggro to the player
Furthermore, would it be possible to have the effects of moves displayed in pokedex similar to descriptions regarding abilities, visible by hovering mouse over? F.ex. Blizzard - Rain type, ice damage, Sandstorm - Tornado type, Rock damage, causes sandstorm weather, or Magma Storm - Bullet type, fire damage. If we wanna minmax quality of life there could be displayed damage as well, especially useful for checking quality of pokemon with buffed dmg, like Shinies, Mythic etc., like Magma Storm - Bullet type, 6x500 fire damage.
Thanks for reading and share your feedback, wether you're a player sharing your opinion or a member of staff explaining your take on this matter.
With regards
